80% Prünent (Nebbiolo) & 20% Croatina from Piedmont, Italy.
Cantine Garrone is situated in the heart of one of the most wild & inaccessible parts of the Piedmonte , only seven miles south of the Swiss border in the region’s northernmost wine appellation, Val d’ Ossola.
The Garrones have made it their life’s purpose to preserve & elevate the wines from this region, focusing on Prunent, the local ancestral name for Nebbiolo. The family works with more than 40 growers to combine their efforts & as a result, the local wine making tradition of the region was saved from extinction.
The wine is primarily Prunent (80%) along with 20% Croatina. It’s bright & juicy with rich cherry & raspberry flavors. There’s barely any of the tannic structure you would typically find in a Nebbiolo, making the wine super quaffable & charming -- much like an alpine Pinot Noir or Gamay!
