68% Petite Pearl, 14% Marquette, 9% Crimson Pearl, 5% L'Acadie, 4% St. Pepin from Vermont, USA.
Ethan Joseph & Tyler Rushton have created “a sense of season, the land, & the people who farm it” on a 189 acre conserved farm in West Pawlet, Vermont. Vineyards, nurseries, greenhouses, homes, & barns coexist with a patchwork of small fields & ribbons of forest. It’s bio-diversity at its purest -- “it’s not just us who're alive out there!”
This Italian inspired chillable (freddo) red is a blend of 68% Petite Pearl, 23% Marquette, & small batches of Crimson Pearl & L’Acadie Blanc. The wine goes through long extractions after being harvested separately & crushed & fermented on their skins.
The wine is complex & simple at the same time with striking aromatics, vibrant acidity, & generous mouthfeel. Light, dry, & chillable – a homage to their Italian heritage.
The photo on the label was taken by Brian Weber while scuba diving off the New England shores & captures a longfin squid swimming in a water column at night. Whether on land or in the water – there’s an appeal to appreciate life that we sometimes aren’t able to see!
