A blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Colombard from Cahors, France.
Cahors has been known for its Malbec (or Cot in France) forever, but the region offers great terroir that can showcase the mineral character of white grapes like Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino, & Columbard.
Julian Ilbert, the young & charismatic winemaker at Chateau Combel uses Sauvignon Blanc and Columbard in this particular blend, vinifying them separately to produce a lean & racy style bursting with lime, grapefruit, and floral notes and aromatics.
In a region and culture steeped in tradition, Julien uses very non-traditional Burgundy bottles & contemporary graphics on his labels as his signature!
