Located in the Marche region, the vineyards in San Nicola are composed of iron, clay, & limestone nurturing 50+ year old vines & elevating the region’s signature grape, Verdicchio, to new heights.

Winemaker Sergio Marani’s approach in the cellar is low tech & unflashy, relying solely on the quality of his grapes. Harvests here are hectic & brief -- first, hand harvesting clusters & direct pressing, and then the juice is transferred to large Apennine Oak casks where it goes through a full malolactic fermentation. Bottling takes place without fining or filtering.

There’s the classic almond aromas & flavors on the palate but also so much more -- nutmeg, dried fruit, citrus, anise, & orchard fruit -- all providing a panoply of fresh flavors along with a streak of saline minerality!
