100% Tsolikouri from Racha-Lechkhumi, Georgia.
Hard to pronounce but easy to drink
Teliani Valley Winery is America’s most popular wine from Georgia. Despite Georgia being the oldest wine producing region in the world, the country is still undergoing a cultural and identity revolution to rediscover it’s roots after fending off the Soviet era invasion and rule in 1991. The winery was established in 1997 and the grapes are harvested in western Georgian vineyards in the village of Orbeli.
The wine is reminiscent of Chablis in a way with its limestone influences and subtle saline properties. It has aromas of green apple and tropical flavors of pineapple and grapefruit. Mineral rich and refreshing, this wine is the doorway to rediscovering the viticultural potential of this brave and resilient country.
