Gaspard is one of Jenny Lefcourt’s house labels where she works with Loire winemakers to create ”wines that are kind to nature and your budget!” Gaspard in French translates to “bringer of treasures” so the name is very appropriate!
Gamay has certainly put Beaujolais on the map but the Loire also has its share of prized Gamay parcels. The grapes come from vineyards between 10-60 years old, are macerated for 5-6 weeks, & semi carbonically fermentation, and then on to 8 months in stainless steel.
Cherries, violets, baking spices, & earth pop in this fruity and highly crushable Gamay!
