100% Sangiovese from Tuscany, Italy. Organic.

Riccardo Campinoti, Brunello master, has put together a truly charming and authentic 100% Sangiovese from the Le Ragnaie vineyards, some of the highest in Montalcino. The cooler temperatures and diurnal swings preserve the vibrant acidity and adds finesse to this lighter and more nuanced expression of Sangiovese.

The flavors burst with strawberries, dried cranberries , and cherries. It’s aromatic as all get-out with accents of leather, dried herbs, and even a touch of salinity. The tannins are fine grained and soft, supporting the wine’s structure without overwhelming the delicate fruit.

Troncone in Italian translation is “stump” which is both a homage to Riccardo’s grandfather, who’s nickname was Stump, and it also refers to a lone stump that graces the center of the Le Ragnaie vineyards. This wine is Italian rusticity at its very best and a truly authentic taste of Tuscany!
