100% Furmint from Tokaj, Hungary. Sustainable.
Founded in 2013, winemaker Zsolt Nagy and his wife Arpad bought a 200 year old house and small 8 hectare vineyard in the town of Erdobenye to devote themselves exclusively to Hungary’s popular varietal Furmint.
For ages Furmint has been used as the primary grape in Hungary’s most popular wine, the sweet Tokaji Aszu. In recent years a new generation of winemakers are approaching Furmint with a fresh, crisp interpretation.
Wine critics are very excited about this new direction referring to Furmint as “Chenin Blanc with an attitude”!
The wine is elegant and intense with mandarin orange, peach and pear aromas, citrus and spice, with that salty minerality that’s characteristic of the Tokaj wine region.
