100% Frappato from Sicily.

Tu Cuntu means “I will tell you a story” in Sicilian dialect & refers to the ability of wines made from native grapes to tell the story of their terroir & history. The label shows the stone walls & wild Myrtle that characterize this region. Frappato is an indigenous grape grown almost exclusively in the Vittoria region of eastern Sicily.

The vineyards are located on the slopes of Mont Iblei. The far from fertile terrain encourages concentrated flavors & structure with light color & beautiful aromatics. The estate of Tenute Senia was founded in 1850 by the Nicosia family & today 7th generation sisters, Valentina & Angela Nicosia, preside over all operations at the winery.

Frappato is fresh & loaded with berry flavors. Occasionally you can even pick up an intriguing root beer note! The tannins are refined & the acidity is perky. This is a red wine that would be comfortable with both seafood & pasta dishes. There’s plenty of versatility in this Sicilian sleeper!
