The Canary Islands escaped the Phylloxera plague in the middle of the 19th century so many of the indigenous grapes are still in play here. Taganan is the old local name for this rugged vineyard area located on the volcanic cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Listan Blanco, Albillo Criollo, Malvasia, Verelho & many more grapes are harvested from old vines that have been left to grow untrained. Each grape varietal is vinified separately with some receiving skin contact for about 7 days. The juice then goes through eight months of aging in both oak & stainless steel.

This wine is full of regional character -- salty, nutty, & smoky with refreshing acidity & volcanic minerality. The nose is like sea air and the citrus & stone fruit flavors just explode in the glass!
