100% Nero d’Avola from Sicily, Italy.
Horus is a relatively new venture starting in 1974 by the Giudice family who developed an agricultural company and a winery on one hundred hectares of land devoted to vines and almond and olive trees. The vineyards are located in the highly desirable Hyblaean Mountain range of Vittoria where the Nero d’Avola is grown. Nero d’Avola is considered by many Sicilian growers to be the most important indigenous variety in Sicily.
This 100% Nero d’Avola is vinified from the best hand picked grapes and goes through 8 days of maceration on the skins. The elegant fruity aromas of plum and cherry blend seemlessly with the slight licorice and chocolate notes. The wine is full bodied with mouth watering acidity and long spicy finish.
