Podere il Saliceto from the Emilia-Romagna has handed over the winemaking duties to Gianpaolo Isabella to create this dry sparkling beauty made up of 100% Lambrusco Salamino. Gianpaolo works exclusively with the indigenous grapes found in the Modena area. The grapes are sourced from vines over 50 years old and Gianpaolo is known to wander into the vineyards and clear out the overhanging vines with his machete!
The wine is fermented in stainless steel with the second fermentation in the bottle. Full bodied, effervescent, fresh and vibrant, the wine has notes of ripe cherry, blackberry, and blueberry with hints of leather and plums. There’s underlying chewy earthy flavors and the classic slightly bitter mouth watering finish that’s a signature of Lambrusco wines.
