The Randle Hill Sauvignon Blanc is grown on a steep hillside in the tiny Yorkville
Highlands appellation of Mendocino County. This rugged and remote vineyard sits
at an elevation of 1,100’ at the gateway of the Anderson Valley. This area enjoys
warm days and cool nights during the summer as the afternoon breezes usher in
coastal air daily. The gnarled old vines in this site were planted in 1982 with the
Bordeaux clone 1, and are farmed organically in quartz studded, eroding shale
soils. The 2024 crackles with energy and is packed with citrus and floral aromatics
that carry through to a salted lime curd and mineral driven finish. This fresh wine
will deliver pleasure in its youth, and will hold nicely if tucked away for a couple
years."
