Established in 1982 (ed note. the best year to have been established), Groth Vineyards has gone from an old dairy farm with a few frost bitten Gamay vineyards to one of Napa Valley’s renowned estates!

Ted Henry now presides as the current winemaker. That he is only the fourth winemaker in four decades at Groth speaks to the winery’s consistency in a viticultural Mecca that’s notorious for its revolving door circulation of wine makers that enjoy relocating frequently!

In addition to their landmark Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc has been an integral part of Groth’s success over the years. It's sourced from the best sites throughout Napa Valley, including the Oakville Estate, where the winery is located.

The wine is a blend of 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Semillon is added to give the wine roundness and body along with a rich creaminess. The warmer vineyard sites develop grapes that impart all of the melon and citrus notes while the cooler sites produce grapes that provide a crisp backbone. The nose bursts with fresh cut cantalope, lime, papaya, lemon, and a touch of pepper. The palate offers refreshing lemon and lime layers and a creamy smooth lively finish!
