From the producer: "Our historic wine, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and since 1982, following our exit from the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine. From selected Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it ages for two years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels. To pair with: cured meats, grilled meats, first courses, stews, stewed fish."
