Martha Stoumen discovered the beauty of Zinfandel while working as an assistant winemaker at Broc Cellars. She learned that Zinfandel has a small window between overripe & unripe but when you capture it you’re rewarded with amazing flavors & complexity.
She totally nailed it in this bottling! The Zinfandel is sourced from Contra Costa County (62%), and the Carignan (38%) is from 75 year old vines located in Redwood Valley! The Zinfandel adds hibiscus, rhubarb, pomegranate, & baking spices while the Carignan provides all of the savory components.The grapes are fermented separately & aged in both stainless steel & neutral oak for 6 months before blending.
Another ultimate summer red that can be slightly chilled or drunk at room temperature. Totally crushable either way!
