The Styria wine growing region in Slovenia is considered one of the most exclusive wine producing locations in Europe. Despite its “under the radar” status, Kobal wines are exceptional & totally unique.

The winery is located near the city of Maribor, home of the oldest grape producing vine in the world affectionately called – what else -- Old Vine!, which is over 400 years old & the grapes still get hand harvested to produce a small & very special (& expensive!) wine!

Cold maceration plays an important role in grape processing to maintain a high level of extraction of aromatic & mineral elements in their wine. There’s a slight blush from the Pinot Grigio skins from a longer maceration & the wine bursts with ripe pear & apple flavors. There’s a discreet creamy aftertaste of melon & minerality on the finish!
