100% Muscat Bailey A from Hiroshima, Japan.
"Midori-chan is a smooth, approachable wine with gentle acidity and flavors of pomegranate, gooseberry, red cherry, and rosehip, followed by a lingering toasty, earthy finish. Made from 100% Muscat Bailey A grapes grown by residents of the Midori no Machi Social Welfare Support Facility, it undergoes carbonic maceration and fermentation in used barrels. Delicious slightly chilled with appetizers or at room temperature with lighter meats, it also pairs easily with grilled chicken, vegetables, pasta, yakitori, and casual Japanese fare.
Each bottle comes with a letter written by one of the people at the Midori no Machi social
welfare facility who helped grow the grapes; the winery calls it “Omoi o Todokeru, Tegami Wine” (“Wine that delivers feelings through letters”).
