50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, & 10% Mourvedre from Lirac in the Côtes du Rhône, France.
Chateau Segries (meaning water spring) was founded in the early 17th century & is one of the oldest producers in the Lirac appellation. Many of their current vineyards date back to 1925! The clay & limestone terroir (again!) is the essential ingredient to the quality of grapes harvested in this region.
This wine epitomizes the classic Provençal profile -- there’s so much to love in this bottle!
The wine is a blend of Grenache & Syrah with Cinsault & Mourvèdre creating a round & lush signature Southern Rhone style wine that’s balanced with beautiful fruit & endless length. Ripe cherries, a touch of leather, pepper & spicy notes conspire to create a juicy, layered, & expressive interpretation from this under the radar appellation!
