All the way from South Africa – it’s Avondale Winery!

You’ll definitely want to make it out to The Local on Monday, October 16th for our next wine tasting event. Innovator in the wine making world, Johnathan Grieve of Avondale Winery, will be visiting us all the way from the Paarl region of South Africa. Johnathan will be sharing three white wines and three red wines, guiding guests through each pour and talking about his unique approach to farming.

Johnathan grew up near Cape Town and originally pursued an education in the arts. But when his parents bought Avondale in 1999, he took a leap of faith and began working as an apprentice viticulturist. Soon after his arrival, Johnathan embarked on a journey of discovery, experimenting with different farming methods that included organic and biodynamic principles. This led to the development of his unique BioLOGIC® farming approach that considers all aspects of the natural environment and that has breathed life back into the earth of Avondale.
