100% Gruner Veltliner from Wagram, Austria.
Paul Direder has been interested in all things agricultural from the cradle! He started working with his grandfather on his farm at a very early age & when he was 16 he took over the farm. Paul exported his first wines to the United States 2 years later!
In the beginning, he cultivated 35 hectares of mixed crops & orchards and 4 hectares of vineyards but increased the property fivefold within 10 years. Paul & his wife Romana operate the winery along with their curious children who are already looking over their parent’s shoulders as they work the vineyards!
The wine is made from 100% Gruner Veltliner from 20-30 year old vines. The winery is located in the Wagram region where the ancient gravel sediments from the Danube River & layers of loess soils combine to create a superb terroir for Gruner Veltliner. It bursts with flavors of green & yellow apples, a hint of pineapple, white pepper, & spice.
Their liter bottle is one of the best white wine values out there & offers a tremendous bang for your buck this 4th of July weekend and throughout the summer!
