100% Cortese from Gavi, Piedmont, Italy. Organic & Biodynamic.
In 1724 Gio Batta Lombardo began cultivating vines on his farm and eventually winery just outside the medieval village of Gavi on the border of the Piedmont and Liguria. Today Giordano Lombardo operates the winery with a focus on Gavi, made up of 100% indigenous Cortese grapes. The grapes are manually harvested with a whole grape pressing and a short maceration on the skins. The juice sits on a thin lees before it’s bottled and cellared for 3 months.
The wine has aromatics of fresh hay and acacia flower fragrances. Bright, fresh, and soft, the wine has light mineral notes, a touch of citrus flavor, and a signature nuttiness in the finish!
