Chioma integrale refers to Lorenzo's practice of not trimming the vine shoots as they reach skyward over the course of the season. With the mechanization of Friuli's vineyards, stray shoots were regularly cut to clear the way for tractor passage. By refusing to trim, Lorenzo allows the vines to autoregulate, all while avoiding imposing the stress of unnecessary cuts.
