100% Falanghina from Sannio, Italy.
The Mastroberardino family are largely responsible for the revival and elevation of Campanian wine making since World War II. The family has worked in resuscitating almost extinct grapes into world class varietals.
Falanghina is the signature grape of the Sannio DOC. This indigenous grape is fresh, fruit forward and slightly perfumy with a core minerality.
The name Falanghina is from the Latin Falangae which are poles that support the grape canopy.
The wine pops with pineapple, citrus fruits, notes of honeysuckle and toasted almonds.
Having recently returned from Italy’s Amalfi Coast this local wine (along with other local favorites Pecorino & Vermentino!) was an outstanding complement to the seafood cuisine culture of the region! A new favorite!
