Eric Warnstedt & Bill McNeil, proprietors of the Hen of the Woods restaurant, have put their culinary mark in Stowe with their more recent restaurant Doc Ponds.
True to finding a highly regarded winery that could make a house wine with the versatility & charm of their Hen of the Wood house wines, they worked with Folk Machine in California & landed an elegant, lean, & unmistakably California style Pinot Noir.
The fruit is sourced from the Central Valley & destemmed but not crushed leaving whole berries in the fermentation process. There’s earthiness & big spiciness here with all of that bright forward Pinot fruit.
