100% Cornalin from Valle d'Aosta, Italy.
Not many farmers chose to endure the challenging alpine vineyards in the Valley d’ Acosta. The residual effect of the Phylloxera epidemic in the early 20th century also nearly wiped out many of the local grapes.
Nicola Rosset bravely founded her winery in 2001 on 13 hectares with the capable hands of winemaker Matteo Moretto to revive the wine tradition in the uppermost corner of Italy. Today, powered by the estate’s renewable energy program and the unique alpine soil from the drainage of ancient glaciers, low yields of Cornalin are hand-harvested in early October to maintain its complexity and freshness.
The wine is brimming with red fruits & plums -- dry but juicy & pops with a light spiciness mingling with alpine herbs!
