100% Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, France.
Located in the heart of Chavignol in the Loire, Domaine Serge Laporte has been family owned for 7 generations and currently run by Serge’s son Guillaume. The Sauvignon Blanc vines average age is 25 years old at an elevation of 1500 feet and planted in the classic Kimmerigian limestone, clay, and gravel soils that give these wines their striking personality!
After 15 days of fermentation the juice is aged on the lees for 5-8 months to give the wine a more textured feeling on the palate.
This delicious Sauvignon Blanc has super bright acidity with notes of citrus, a touch of herbs, and striking minerality, with fresh melon and fig flavors on the palate!
I love Sauvignon Blanc from all locales but, to me, the Loire is the Holy Grail!
