100% Aligote from Bouzeron in Burgundy, France.

Julien Cruchandeau, a successful electronic musician who retired to focus on wine production, has operated his vineyards in the village of Chaux in the Haut-Cotes de Nuits in Burgundy with the mission to elevate the often overlooked appellations of Burgundy such as Bouzeron. Julien has taken on the grape Aligote, the prevalent varietal of Bouzeron, to be his badge of honor.

Julien learned the subtleties of the grape from many local masters and uses “massale” selected vines only-old vineyards before widespread clonal planting which give the grapes more varietal variation and adds depth and dimension to the wine. Julian’s Massale wines have become shining stars for the Bouzeron appellation.

The wine is deep, rich, and dense with apple like acidity and honey and cinnamon notes. Opulent and fresh with classic minerality gives this wine amazing length and purity. This wine truly drinks like a Chablis Premier Cru with not a single Chardonnay grape in sight!
