Rosé from 85% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec, & 7% Merlot from Bordeaux, France. Vegan.
Terra de Vigneron’s winemaker Christopher Betin has created a rose that is more than a match for some of the more popular and expensive rose produced in France. The beauty of this wine is that it is made from grapes used in making Bordeaux! This blend of 73% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot, 11% Malbec, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon only needs a dollop of Petit Verdot to be a "Cinq Cepages" rose! Cinque Cepages ("five varieties") is the name given to the five varietals that can only be used in red Bordeaux wine, but rarely do any of these 5 grapes show up collectively in a rose.
The vineyards are located in the heart of the Entre deux Mers region close to the smallest village in France, Castelmoron d’ Albret. Deliciously fresh and elegant with crisp acidity, the wine is chocked full of wild strawberry and raspberry flavors. This summer in a bottle is an interesting eye opener to the potential of rose sourced from unlikely grapes in an unlikely iconic wine region!
