Chateau La Rame is among the oldest & most renowned properties in the Saint Croix du Mont appellation recognized throughout its history as one of the prime sites for producing outstanding wines.
Set on 20 hectares of clay & limestone soil overlooking the Garonne River & Sauternes across the river, the vineyards benefit from full southern exposure from the sun. The vineyards are made up of 75% Semillon, 25% Sauvignon, & small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot.
The grapes for this cuvee are 95% Sauvignon Blanc & 5% Semillon harvested by hand and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats on the lees for 6 months before bottling.
There’s big lemon & grapefruit here, with a hint of herb aromatics & flavors. The wine is young so the acidity is right up front. The wine’s texture & crispness is taut and nervy, a true reflection of spring’s charm!
