100% Gamay from Beaujolais (Burgundy), France. Organic.
In a region dominated by granite soils, the predominantly clay & limestone terroir of Domaine de La Prebende produces a deeply minerally Beaujolais. The domaine sits at the location where monks would collect taxes from the villagers & “Une Prebende” means “a tax”!
The cuvee – Anna Asmaquer – is named after winemaker & owner Ghislaine Dupeuble’s great grandmother, who managed the vineyards & the winemaking & continues as the source of inspiration for what the domaine represents. The wine is sourced from grapes harvested from vineyards that were planted between 1930-1940. There’s big minerality here with bright, wild berry aromatics & flavors – it holds the regional finesse that’s typical of this wine & region. La Prebende is regarded as one of the best value interpretations of Gamay in Beaujolais!
