Scar of the Sea Chardonnay from Bassi Vineyard is a sensory experience that captures the essence of cool climate oceanic viticulture. The highly touted but low yield vineyard is located a little over a mile from the Pacific Ocean and its 29 acres is the forever farm location for owners & winemakers Mikey and Gina Giugni (Gina runs the Lady of the Sunshine wine label that is linked with the Mikey’s Scar of the Sea brand).

The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay which was pressed the day of the harvest and collected in tank overnight and barreled in neutral French oak for fermentation. It is brimming with energy & precision. The vibrant acidity balances nicely with its creamy profile. There are prominent notes of grapefruit, lemon, & coastal herbal nuances along with a subtle earthiness that adds to its complexity.
