Here’s one I’m really happy to announce -- on May 14th, we’ll be hosting Nate Winters representing Troon Vineyard from Applegate Valley, Oregon back in The Tasting Room here at The Local! That’s a lot of things, but what’s most important is that these wines are fantastic, the story behind them is intriguing, and the person presenting them both is a ton of fun!

Troon Vineyards is  is certified Organic, Biodynamic, & Regenerative Organic not just in the vineyard but also in the winery. What’s the difference between certifying a vineyard & a winery? Nate will tell you!

And here’s something I’m sure you’ve heard me say if you’ve ever asked about domestic wines -- In the United States, there are currently 75 allowable additives to wine & none of these need to be disclosed!  There are also all these allowable “processing aids” that are not considered additives but can profoundly impact the final product. But not at Troon. They don’t do any of that nonsense.

Honestly, I got a bit overwhelmed reading through everything that goes into making wines as cleanly as they do at Troon. But what won’t be overwhelming is listening to Nate tell you about that process while you enjoy some delicious local meats & cheeses featured on our charcuterie boards from 5th Quarter & enjoy some fresh bread from Red Hen.

This is going to be a really unique experience to taste through these wines & ask Nate all the questions you may have about biodynamic farming (yes, they do bury sheep horns!).
